BRISTOL — October 26, 2023 — The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce is set to hold a Municipal Forum highlighting the candidates for this year’s municipal election for the City of Bristol on Wednesday, Nov. 1 beginning at 6pm at the Bristol Arts & Innovation Magnet School.

The forum will include each candidate for City Council as well as the Mayor’s Office, incumbent Jeff Caggiano, R,  and Democratic candidate Scott Rosado.

“Election Day is right around the corner and this is a great opportunity for the residents of Bristol to get some additional insight into their candidates running for local office,” said Chamber President & CEO Katie D’Agostino. “This Forum has been put on by the Chamber during several municipal election years now, and we’re excited to be able to continue the tradition this year.”

The City Council forum will begin the night, followed by the Mayoral forum.

For the Mayoral portion, the candidates will be selected by lottery to determine who answers the first question first. After the first question, the other candidate will answer first for the second question and so forth. Each candidate will have 2 minutes to answer the question.

“This is a Chambers of Commerce sponsored event, so naturally the questions the candidates will face will be business related, for example topics such as Economic Development, Taxes, Business Environment, Employment and Workforce Development,” said Chamber Vice President Johnny Burnham, who will serve as the evening’s moderator. “Business drives our local economy, so it’s certainly important that the voters know the stance of each on these important issues.”

Questions will not be provided to the candidates in advance.

There is no charge to attend the forum.
