Bristol Housing Authority 3rd Annual Job Fair Free for Employers

Dear employer,

First, I must take a moment to thank you, our friends in the community, who participated in our employment fair last year. We had a fantastic turn-out thanks to resident participation and you, the employers who were there. We are preparing for our third annual employment fair, scheduled this year for      June 9 from 9:30-12:00 p.m. The employment fair will take place in the Community Room at Bonnie Acres, located at 59 Vance Drive in Bristol.

The Bristol Housing Authority did heavy employment work last year; we offered workshops on cover letters, interview skills, and edited/re-wrote countless resumes. Our efforts paid off, with many previously unemployed or under-employed residents reporting full-time and/or higher-paying employment.

As you are probably aware, many employment fair organizers charge a registration fee to participate. We do not. We simply invite you to join us. Your presence helps us provide additional resources to our residents.

For those of you reading about our employment fair for the first time, my name is Lauren Incognito; I administer the Resident Opportunity Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Program at the Bristol Housing Authority. My colleague, Holly Kobayashi, administers the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program. Both programs provide resources and opportunities that promote self-sufficiency and economic independence. Together, we coordinate this event.

There is no obligation or expectation for an employer to hire. We look at our annual employment fair as a resource for residents and an opportunity for employers to discover the talent and skill of those we provide housing to.

We hope you will consider joining us on June 9, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. We will provide a table for your organization. You just need to supply whatever marketing and advertising materials you would normally use.

A continental breakfast will be served from 9 to 9:30 a.m. for the employers joining us.

If you have any questions or would like any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We kindly ask that you RSVP by May 26, 2017 or earlier, if possible.
