Event Description: Join us for the opening night of this unique exhibition. The New England Carousel Museum will open the upcoming exhibit INK: The History and Ritual of Tattoo & Body Art on Saturday, August 19th, with an opening reception 6:00-9:00 that evening. There will also be a VIP reception, which includes champagne, decadent treats, and a private tour with the exhibit co-curators and runs from 5:00-6:00PM. Tickets for the opening reception are $6.00 or free for museum members. Tickets to the VIP reception are $40.00. All tickets can be purchased via the Carousel Museum’s website at In modern culture, tattoos and body art have gone from being a part of the underground subculture to a large part of our society. Tracing the history of tattooing and body art will show how it is something that spans across time and continents. Almost all cultures have this art form in their past, if not their present. People get tattoos for a myriad of reasons, but this personal artwork is something that connects people from infinite walks of life and backgrounds.
