Each Chamber hosts an Annual Dinner where they officially instate their new leaders and board of directors as well as bestow awards upon deserving Chamber members. These dinners are held at a variety of locations including a fire house, event halls and universities. They are a great chance to recognize the leadership of each Chamber and to highlight members who go above and beyond in promoting the Chamber and the community.
Each year the Bristol Chamber presents Beautification Awards recognizing home owners and businesses that have made an effort to beautify their property through landscaping, maintenance, and physical improvements. Members of the Men’s Bristol Garden Club collect nominations from the community, survey the city and determine the winners.
The Business Forum was started in 2015 as a way to bring together a panel of industry leaders to speak about a topic affecting business today. After the panelist presentations, members are able to ask questions to ensure they get the most out of the event. The Forum also includes a variety of vendor tables that can be visited during breaks with additional information and business resources useful to attendees.
Held in the center of Forestville, the annual Duck Race features 5,000 rubber ducks racing down the Pequabuck River. Forestville Center is closed, allowing the crowd of over 1,000 to walk around, play the children’s games or visit the dozens of vendors. Ducks are $5.00 each and there are about 40 prizes awarded to the first ducks to cross the finish line. Prizes range from a $1,500 grand prize to gift certificates, electronic items, and even green fees for golfing. Proceeds from the event are shared by the Forestville Village Association and the Chamber's Beautification Committee.
The Plymouth Chamber and Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce both hold annual Golf Tournaments with Plymouth’s taking place in July at the Pequabuck Golf Course and Central’s taking place in August at Tunxis Plantation in Farmington.
The Central Connecticut Chamber's Annual Golf Tournament has sold out almost every year since it began in 1992. Tournament play was moved to Tunxis Plantation in 1998 due to a record number of participants, nearly 300 golfers, making it the largest Chamber tournament in Connecticut. The tournament offers a variety of sponsorship, foursome and individual golfer opportunites as well as a chance to donate a raffle prize for even more recognition.
Every December the Chamber gets in the holiday mood with an annual Holiday Party at Nuchie’s Restaurant in Bristol. Members enjoy a huge buffet and antipasto spread while mingling. This event is a way for the Chamber to thank all of our members for their support throughout the year. It is a great time to relax and enjoy some good food and good company.
Home & Business Expo
Attended by over 8,000 people annually, this two-day event held in February brings area businesses together for one of the largest home shows in the state. The show features more than 125 exhibitors, hourly door prizes, entertainment, a craft fair and free gifts from area merchants for all attendees.
This breakfast, held every January, is your chance to hear what our legislative leaders have on tap for this coming year’s Legislative Session. Many local and state politicians are present to discuss the issues facing Central Connecticut. It is the perfect time to meet with your representatives and learn what they are doing for you and your business.
State of the City & Towns Breakfast
Local town and city leaders join Chamber members for a special breakfast meeting where they each make a short presentation on how our communities are doing and what is in store for the coming year. This is the perfect event to learn about the status of the Central Connecticut area and get a feel for what our leaders have planned.
